Weather Delays Bridge Inspection

Parkersburg, WV (WMOA) - Complications with the weather have caused lane closures on the main connecting bridge between downtown Parkersburg and the south side to be extended.
The West Virginia Division of Highways says lane closures on the Fifth Street Bridge will continue through the weekend to allow for workers to finish their inspection of the structure.
Officials say the lane closures will occur between 8 am and 8 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Substantial delays are expected and drivers should find an alternate route if possible, or be ready for a long delay.
A lower speed limit is also in place in the work zone. If you must travel through the area, you're asked to slow down and observe all traffic control signs.
