Marietta man arrested following library break-in

MARIETTA, Ohio (July 27, 2016) - A Marietta man was arrested this week after being identified as a suspect in a recent break-in at the Washington County Library.
 
Chadwick L. Smearman, age 35, allegedly triggered an alarm at the Marietta Branch of the Washington County Library just before 5 a.m. on July 13. Officers with the Marietta Police Department say Smearman fled the area when they responded, but he was quickly apprehended and taken into custody.
 
Smearman is charged with Breaking and Entering, and Safecracking.
