PARKERSBURG, West Virginia (July 22, 2016) - The West Virginia Division of Highways announces possible traffic interruptions this week to allow for the routine inspection of two bridges.

Beginning Monday, July 25, lane closures will be in effect on the Parkersburg-Belpre Bridge on Route 618 over the Ohio River. Traffic patterns will change daily between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Monday, August 1.

Motorists are advised to use caution and obey traffic control devices and flaggers while traveling through the work zone. Delays are expected to be minor.

Also beginning Monday, July 25, several lane closures will be in effect surrounding the Fifth Street Bridge over the Little Kanawha River. Traffic patterns will change daily between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday, July 29.

Officials say delays will be substantial and motorists should seek alternative routes, when possible. Speeds will be reduced in the work zone, and wide loads will not be permitted during the inspection.
