Woman convicted on drug charges

MARIETTA, Ohio - A woman convicted on drug charges has been sentenced after an arrest last August in a Marietta hotel.
 
Sydney Thompson, age 21, of Richland County, was originally indicted on charges of trafficking in both cocaine and heroin. She had allegedly been traveling to Marietta to sell drugs and was arrested after a one-week investigation by the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
 
Thompson pleaded guilty and was sentenced on lesser charges. She will serve 90 days in jail as well as three years of probation and a $10,000 mandatory fine.
