Former Marietta City Schools Treasurer Dead at Age 60

(MARIETTA, OH) - One of Washington County's most-respected leaders died Thursday morning.
 
Former Marietta City Schools Treasurer and Chief Fiscal Officer Dave Combs died at the age of 60 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus a week after suffering a ruptured aorta on a golf course.
 
Washington County Commissioner Rick Walters says he was golfing with Combs when Combs collapsed and a retired state trooper attempted to revive him.
 
Combs was initially taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital before being life-flighted to Columbus and had been on life-support since.
 
Combs graduated from Fort Frye High School and managed Lakeside Golf Course following his retirement from the school district.
Funeral arrangements have not been determined at this time.
