(MARIETTA, OH) - Before you celebrate Independence Day, you'll have a chance to get a little "crafty" with the suds.

The 21st Annual Red, White, and Brews Festival is set for this Friday from 7 PM to 11 PM at the Lafayette Hotels.  Doors open at 6 PM, and the cost of admission is $10.

Marietta Main Street Director Katy Sulfridge says this will be her first Red, White, and Brews  Festival, and she's expecting a great evening of blues music.  She adds there will be four acts performing throughout the night.

"We have Leopold and his Fiction, We Are Funhouse, Micah Kesselring, and the Dirt Poor Troubadors (playing)," she says.

Sulfridge adds Marietta Brewing Company owner and Festival Chair Tony Styer and other organizers wanted to breathe new life into the festival to showcase more flavors from neighboring areas in Ohio.

"Marietta Brewing Company will provide most of the beer," says Sulfridge, "but we will also bring in other Ohio craft beers from Heidelberg Distributing Company and Southeast Beverage Company."

She adds there will be two trailers full of local craft beers for people to sample and drink, and this will give the festival more of a local taste than ever before.

"This year, we just went full-scale Ohio craft beer to bring in a more local crowd who would be interested in seeing what he have to offer," Sulfridge notes.

Sulfridge says no coolers will be allowed at the festival, and providing your own seating is suggested.  All proceeds go to the enhancement and beautification of downtown Marietta.

Anyone with questions should call Marietta Main Street at 740-885-8194.
